Spies Johannes [Male] b. 1 SEP 1684 Diedenshausen - d. 23 JAN 1760 Diedenshausen
Tenant in Schreiners Haus, Diedenshausen.
She seems to have been born in a house at Hoheleye, a hamlet belonging to Girkhausen.
She was also known as Kathryn Elizabeth but Ethel Kathryn was the name she used for legal purposes.
He was deceased by 1900.
Her given name was almost certainly Wilhelmine.
Available information from LDS recrods shows both of her parents dying a year after she was born. This is possible, but makes you wonder.
Came to America in 1871 and was at Wheatland by 1880. There is some confusion as to where they lived and are buried, as there is a "Wheatland" in Carroll County as well. But their graves are definitely in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Clinton County.
She was born in Bürgers house in the small settlement known as Hoheleye outside Girkhausen. We do not know when she went to America. In the U.S., she was known as Clara Pauline. As far as we know, she came to American alone but had Dienst relatives around Wheatland.
He arrived in 1881 in Baltimore. I cannot connect him definitively to anyone else.
Recorded as landing in New York on September 23, 1857.
Listed as Linda L. in the 1950 Census.

As near as I can tell, this is the woman christened Louysa Juliana as the 9th child of Johannes and Anna Elisabeth Homrighausen--but known as Maria Louise when she married Johann Philipp Dickel.
Born in Hermes Haus, Diedenshausen, but became the tenant in Schneiders.
She had seven children with Johann Christian Fausch before her early death.
The family believes he died in the San Franciso earthquake of 1906. No more is known.

The records of her short life and those of her sister, Christine are confusing. The hand-written records of Clinton County document the marriage of Christine to Joseph McCulley in 1890. Yet Christine is buried as a Schneider in the Wheatland Cemetery while Sarah is buried as a McCulley. Ray Joseph McCulley was born shortly before Sarah's death, and "childbirth fever" was sadly common. The preponderance of evidence seems to be that it was Sarah who was married and not Christine. What accounts for the latter's name in the marriage register is a mystery.
I find no evidence that she had children.
