Beitzel Johannes [Male] b. 12 APR 1712 Stünzel - d. 25 AUG 1794 York, Pennsylvania

His birth is not recorded, but I am convinced that he was born at Stünzel not long after his parents settled in as some of the first tenants in this new hamlet. By 1737 he was married to Maria Magdalena Weller and on a ship (The Charming Nancy) to America which landed in Philadelphia by way of Rotterdam.

Maria had six children before her death in 1749. Johannes remarried to Anna Elisabeth Eberhard and had an additional nine children. It was probably through this marriage that he became a member of the Moravian church in York, Pennsylvania.

Homrighausen Georg Wilhelm [Male] b. 5 JUL 1782 Diedenshausen - d. 10 APR 1849 Tuscarawas County, Ohio

Born in and became the tenant in Hermes Haus, Diedenshausen. On June 3, 1818, he sold his possessions for 2000 Thalers and moved with his family to Baltimore. In the year 1826, he was physically back in Germany as he was present at a legal proceeding. However, he returned to America.

Beitzel Friedrich Wilhelm [Male] b. 27 AUG 1845 Diedenshausen - d. 18 JUN 1916 Tuscarawas County, Ohio

Local records say that he went to America and married "Emma Ankeni." There is a marriage recorded between a Friedrich Wilhelm Beitzel and Anna Elisabeth Ankeny in the York Township of Tuscarawas County, Ohio; the transcription I have seen says May 27, 1855 but I believe this is in error. There is a birth record for their son, Friedrich Wilhelm, in 1869 that names both parents.

One Kuhn uncle is known to have gone to Tuscarawas County; several other aunts and uncles also went to America but local (German) records do not say where.

His first wife evidently died in the 1870s, as he married a second time to Elizbeth Schwegheimer. They are two young children are listed in the 1880 Census, with several Schwegheimer in-laws in the house. I have not found the children of his first marriage in the 1880 Census; chances are they were "farmed out" to relatives, of whom he seemed to have had several. His occupation was "superintending ore mines."
