Known as Georg Wilhelm or George William. Arrived October 25, 1854 in New Orleans on the ship "Auguste" out of Bremen. Went to Kansas City where he was a stone mason. Moved to Paola, Kansas, in 1861 where he farmed. Lived in Arizona the last two years or so of his life. He claimed to have been naturalized in about 1855. I have been unable to find him in any Census prior to 1880.

Known as John in America. He was recorded as the out-of-wedlock child of his mother in Schäfers Haus in Wunderthausen with no notation as to who the father was. Three years later his mother went to America with some others from Wunderthausen and eventually married Georg Ludwig Knoche from that party. While he may or may not have been the father of the child, John took the name Knoche. By his own report, he came to America in 1867 long after his mother. As of 1900 they were living with their children on the farm of his parents (close the George W. Homrighausen farm).

Born in Kellers Haus in Wunderthausen. Known as Louis. Arrived in New Orleans on the ship "Auguste" out of Bremen on October 25, 1854.

According to a local history:
LOUIS KNOCHE, farmer, Section 7, P. O. Paola, was born in Prussia, Germany, in 1829; was a farmer by occupation. Emigrated to America in 1854; made his home at Kansas City, Mo., til 1861. He then came to Paola and purchased his present farm of 160 acres of the Indian chief Baptiste Peoria. Mr. Knoche has served six years as Treasurer of the School Board of his district. During the late war he was enrolled as a member of the State Militia and served as a guard to protect the State from invasion by the Confederates.
