Grew in the house known as "Weisse" in Wunderthausen. He came to America on the ship Duisburg that landed in Baltimore on May 27, 1857. He was supposedly bound for St. Louis. I find no later trace of him in America.

The 1920 Census gives his age as 14, but in 1930 it says he is only 20. One or the other is wrong. In the latter year, he and his sister, Susie, lived on a farm next to that of their mother. By 1940 he, Susie and Frank lived on the farm--next to brothers William and George.
It is possible that she is the "Katie Riedesel" who married Edward Mitchell on 23 Dec 1896 in Jackson County. I can find no trace of the couple in the 1900 Missouri Census.

Born in Jochums Haus in Wunderthausen. Believed to have gone to America in 1796.
Born in Altehäusers, never married.
The records are unclear. 40 years later the pastor noted that a deceased Elisabeth Gertraudt Trapp was 40 years old. However, she had a younger sister with the same name who is recorded as having lived and married. My hypothesis is that the older daughter died young (though I can find no record), and that the pastor's note many years later was in error.
Died of smallpox.

Born in Hohmanns house in Wunderthausen. In 1845 she may have sailed to America on the ship Minna bound for New York with the Georg Gabriel Wetter family under the name Catherine Wetter. There is no subsequent trace of her. It is plausible that she joined her brothers at Ellenville, New York.
