Born in Bormanns house in Wunderthausen, and became the tenant/owner. The second marriage ended in divorce, and the mother apparently went to America with Caroline.

Legal correspondence says that he was by then living in neighboring Hallenberg. According to American family lore, he was killed in an accident at the age of 65. The year 1844 is a best guess given his November birthday.
