Born in the house Graberhof in Hoheleye, part of the community of Girkhausen. When the Knoche family left Beitzels house to move to Missouri in about 1845, he purchased the land (over 100 Morgen).
Lived in Schmeds Haus and is also referred to as Veltin or Velten. Previous generations and probably his in-laws were named Schmitt. They may have been practicing blacksmiths, but this was never full-time work in Wunderthausen.
He was the legally acknowledged father of Maria Amalia, but we do not know what became of him later.
Born in Seimes house but took over Wetzels by marrige.
