He was a cabinet maker. I don't know when they came to Clinton County, but they were there through at least 1880. By 1895 he had left Clinton County for Charter Oak in Crawford County, Iowa. There is a "Wirth" tombstone in St. Paul's Cemetery with her dates on the back.
