Born in Hohmanna Haus in Wunderthausen. Came to America on the "Johann Schmidt" out of Bremen, landing in New Orleans on June 1, 1857. The passenger list indicates that she was bound for St. Louis. Her younger sister, Maria Katherine, came to that general area ten years later.

He apparently never married. As of 1920, he was farming in the Osage Township of Miami County with his mother and sister Mary in the household. His WWI draft registration was as "John Henry", but he is only listed as Henry in other documents.

She was born in the house at Petersgrund near Wunderthausen. Arrived in the port of Baltimore on July 1, 1834 on the ship "Palmer" under the name Lauber though I don't think her parents married.
