The child was certainly the son known later as Johannes Riedesel or Rittase.

The presumably widowed Luise and her son, Heinrich Schneider, apparently came to America in 1891 though a passenger record has yet to be found. She soon married Fred Pieper in Illinois but by 1900 they lived in Crookston, Minnesota, close to her brother Carl. The Piepers (and Henry Schneider) moved to Peoria by 1902 and ultimately to Nordheim, Texas.

"Tante Luise" remained in contact with her family in Germany--a life spanning both world wars.
