Known as Louis. Born in Neues Brückehaus/Langes in Wunderthausen. Came to New York on the "Donau" out of Bremen on September 9, 1871. Farmed in Cedar County in Section 3 of the Springfield Township though had moved in to Lowden by the time of his death. As near as I can tell, the local newspaper (Lowden) did not even run an obituary for him.

Sara was his brother's step-daughter (but no blood relation).

Worked initially in Pennsylvania and New Jersey but settled in Woodbury County where he was known as "Little George." He may have been the George Strackbein who returned from the port of Bremen on July 25, 1909. This would have been shortly after his wife died. This man was 53 (close) and a U.S. citizen.
